Bridges

A bridge uses crowns on the teeth either side of a gap to anchor a false tooth in between — a reliable, non-surgical way to replace a missing tooth and restore your bite.

What Are Dental Bridges?

A bridge uses crowns on the teeth on either side of a gap to anchor a false tooth (or several) in between, bridging the space left by a missing tooth. Each crown and the replacement tooth are custom-made to match your surrounding teeth, then cemented into place as a single unit.

A bridge is a reliable, non-surgical option for replacing missing teeth — it does not require implant surgery and, for many patients, is an excellent solution that lasts many years with the right care. It restores full biting function and keeps the neighbouring teeth from drifting into the gap.

When Should You Consider It?

  • A missing tooth: A bridge fills the gap and restores your bite without requiring surgery.
  • You want to avoid implant surgery: A bridge achieves a fixed replacement without a surgical procedure or healing period.
  • The neighbouring teeth would benefit from crowns anyway: If the teeth either side of the gap are already cracked or heavily filled, a bridge addresses all of it in one treatment.
  • Trouble eating or speaking: A gap can affect both — a bridge restores full function.

What to Expect

  1. Tooth preparation.
The supporting teeth are shaped to accommodate the crowns, impressions are taken, and a temporary bridge is placed while your permanent one is made.
  2. Lab fabrication.
Your bridge is custom-crafted to match your bite and the shade of your surrounding teeth.
  3. Final fitting.
The permanent restoration is checked for fit and bite, then cemented securely into place.
